Gastr del Sol, Purple City, CJSW, and more!
Hello! It's been a few weeks since I posted on this thing, but in that span of time I've healed up my broken wrist, started library school at Langara College, and (most importantly) proposed to my partner Reagan with the help of a David Bowie picture disc. She said yes!
In other news, my interview with Jim O'Rourke and David Grubbs about the fantastic new Gastr del Sol compilation was recently published by Aquarium Drunkard. The site is now subscription-based, so you'll have to kick in a few shekels to read our conversation, but I promise it's worth it. This was a hilarious chat with two of my musical heroes!
Kerkland Jerks' CJSW live session that we filmed while we were in Calgary for Sled Island this summer is up now on the station's YouTube channel. The video offers a cheeky little sneak peek at some of the songs from our upcoming album. Thanks again to Cam, Helen, Daren, Audrey, Maya, and everyone else at the station for making this a super fun experience!
Finally, if you're in Edmonton for the Purple City music festival this weekend, I'll be speaking on the "Publicity, Marketing, and Media" panel on Sunday afternoon. Admission is free if you register at this link!
