Frozen Lake in Vancouver this Sunday!

Frozen Lake in Vancouver this Sunday!

Hello! I've been buried under a pile of reading for my first semester of library school, alongside reviewing the new Nap Eyes album, and squeezing in as much time on my skateboard as possible before cold weather hits, so I hope you can forgive me for ignoring this newsletter.

This Sunday, October 20th at Green Auto (my home away from home these days), I'll be playing a set of improvised music with Frozen Lake. Devin Friesen (the other half of the duo) lives in Calgary, so this show will mark our first appearance in Vancouver, and our second ever live performance. Mr. Game 7 will get the party started. Advance tickets are available now!

Here's a little spiel about us:

Frozen Lake is the duo of Calgary-based guitarist Devin Friesen (Bitter Fictions, Friesen / Hume / Waters), and Vancouver-based drummer Jesse Locke — a regular presence at Green Auto with bands such as Kerkland Jerks, Roundelays, and Muncho Joe. Blasting out improvised noise-rock in the style of Orcutt and Corsano, Frozen Lake recently released their debut album on Friesen's label Shaking Box Music, and will make their Vancouver debut with this live performance. They will be joined by Mr. Game 7 (a.k.a. fellow Kerkland Jerk John Packman) for a set of mind-melting electronic music.
